Decades of
Abortion Restrictions

Texas lawmakers have passed law after law restricting abortion access.

In the four decades since Roe v. Wade, Texas lawmakers have passed more than 18 anti-abortion measures, turning back the clock on a woman’s right to access abortion care in our state.

As a result of these abortion restrictions, more than half of the state’s abortion clinics have closed, leaving millions of Texans without access to the care they need.

About TRA

Trust. Respect. Access. is a multi-year campaign to restore trust in Texans to make their own reproductive health care decisions, respect for health care professionals’ medical and ethical judgment about the care each patient needs, and access to the full range of reproductive health care.

This unprecedented, coordinated campaign aims to reverse the damage caused by Texas anti-abortion laws, to educate the public about the harm caused by these dangerous laws, and to hold lawmakers accountable for political attacks on reproductive health care.

The coalition partners leading this effort include: ACLU of Texas, NARAL Pro-Choice Texas, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, Texas Freedom Network, Texas Research Institute, Whole Woman's Health, and Shift. Other Texas organizations, like Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, partner with the coalition for proactive legislative initiatives.
